MDF

MDF cuts so well it seems like it was made for laser cutting and engraving. The cost effective material produces very intricate cuts and is a readily available solution for most laser cut projects.
MDF works extremely well for prototype/mockup and architectural projects requiring additional hand labor, finishing, or painting. MDF's amazing qualities lend it self to be used for architectural details, grills, vents, furniture, stencils, props, trim, moldings, etc.

Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is denser than plywood and is made up of separated fibers, (not wood veneers) but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and much more dense than normal particle board.
